Description
Two students dressed in herald costumes for Big May Day 1932, playing trumpets in the Cloisters of Thomas. As inscribed on back, on left: Korff, Barbara '33 (The Hon. Mrs. Edward W. C. Russell), on right: McCormick, Louise '34 (Mrs. Montgomery M. Orr). Stamped on back: "International News Photos, Inc. 235 East 45th Street, New York City." Inscribed on front: "International 611434." May Day celebrates spring and honors parting seniors featuring parades, theater, and maypole dancing. Big May Day occurs once every four years and is marked by even more extravagant celebrations.
